Not to demean anything you said here, but while I was in college there was one man who auditioned for nearly every show. He didn’t want to be in the show, but he enjoyed auditioning and seeing others’ auditions.
Finally, all the directors and other students refused to even acknowledge him for audition. He would have been good but he just didn’t really want to act. He wasted everyone’s time.
He showed. He just didn’t care!
